A Walk to Remember
This is a romantic novel narrated by Landon Carter reminiscing about his past. The romance is between Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. This novel is a common but sweet story that we are used to reading. Landon the popular boy who cares about little and has a lot of money. Jamie Sullivan that not so popular girl who is the perfect citizen, the nicest person you will ever meet, but doesn't blend in with people her age. This love story is a settle, calm and sweet one.
I enjoyed this book a lot. The movie for me is a classic. Better than the notebook. I think it is a nice read if you are looking to enjoy something quick and sweet. It is very predictable that in this case is actually not a bad thing. I might be kind of bias because of my deep love for the movie. |
Facts about the book:
(SPOILERS- More in detail thoughts)I was surprised at how different this is from the book. I love the movie so much and I've rewetted it over and over again. When I started reading this book I had already basically memorized the whole movie. I loved most of the differences. Except i didn't understand so much the love that Landon felt for Jamie. In my opinion it was kind of unrealistic and hard to relate to. I disliked the fast that he only noticed his feeling for her after he saw how pretty she was. I dislike the way he focussed so much on her hair. He felt like a mean person and kind of emotion less at a time.

- “As these images were going through my head, my breathing suddenly went still. I looked at Jamie, then up to the ceiling and around the room, doing my best to keep my composure, then back to Jamie again. She smiled at me and I smiled at her and all I could do was wonder how I’d ever fallen in love with a girl like Jamie Sullivan.”
- "I don’t think that we’re meant to understand it all the time, I think that sometimes we just have to have faith”
- "The concept was so absolutely foreign that I couldn’t comprehend what she was trying to say."
- "Her eyes never left mine as she finally said the words that numbed my soul. “I’m dying, Landon.”
- “Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.”
